Suicide on Palafox is Tragic

This Pensacola man shot himself in the head this morning after he locked himself in a closet. It all happened in his resturant, just after it he'd opened up for business.

I didn't know the man, but I know he was living the American dream; he had it all.

John Ma was a successful restaurateur that enjoyed fishing and seemed to have many friends in the area.

Maybe we'll find out he had money troubles or his marriage was going bad, but it still doesn't deny the fact that this was simply a tragedy. His death was uncalled for.

Did anyone know Ma, and want to talk about him?

I just heard about John and am without words. John is a great person. I was his girlfriend at FSU on and off for a couple years. We stayed friends though because we were better at that. We lost touch a couple years ago (right around Hurricane Ivan). He is so smart and funny. One time we went to South Beach to do "sushi research weekend". What a blast! There will always be a place in my heart for him. I can only picture him with a smile because that's what he was always wearing. Wo ai ni John.

My name is Patrick Brown, I worked at the resteraunt with John and I couldn't have had a better boss than John. He was an absolute delight and an honor to work under.... His untimely death is a shock to me and he shall definetly be missed and I hope that his legacy is never tarnished, but cherished. Because he truly deserves nothing less!

Hello, my name is Yuka from Japan.

First of all, I would like to say that Pensacola time was my precious period.

I was in PSN for my school, and met John in Hot Rock Sushi restaurant. He took care of me alot for everything. Took me out to show around bars and Parties, and introduced his friends, drop me work when my car was down etc....

He was like my real brother in US.
Because of I am Japanese, people believed I am his sister when he introduced me as a sister hahaha..

Doesn't matter if it was good, sad , or bad. It just greatest experiences and memories during my Pensacola time, and still now too.

I feel very very sorry for his parents that they have lost him.

I just want to say that "You are my(for every one) IRREPLACEABLE PERSON !!! We all love you & miss you..."
